The Kadambinee
Largest circulated monthly family magazine of Orissa
The modern society is facing the problem of instability, loss of values, individual laziness and moral failures. This is because of disintegration of extended family structure of age old Indian society. Family, the oldest institution of Indian culture is falling apart and the socially approved model (family) is loosing it’s cohesive force day by day. At this juncture, it has become essential to re-establish the harmony among all the members of a joint family and integrate the newly emerging world of development in science, communication and technology to life. Familial disasters like divorce, separation, individual crisis, suicides and loneliness can be avoided only if we can restore the family to it’s former dominance beyond individualism. As an effort, the Kadambinee Media Pvt. Ltd. thought of an Oriya monthly magazine, the 'Kdadambinee' having ingredients for entire family.
The 'Kadambinee' has now established itself as the largest circulated (35,000 copies) monthly family colour magazine of Orissa with an effective readership of about 11 lakhs. It is widely accepted by all sections of people ranging from adolescents to adults, from housewives to working women, from remote villagers to metropolitans, from college students to busy executives. Within a short span of time, the 'Kadambinee' has reached all literate homes in the state and read by all members of the family, because it covers topics of multidimensional interests.
The 'Kadambinee' is the most popular monthly family magazine which contains cover-related features; features on cultural, social and current issues; stories, poems; novels in a serial form; translations from other literatures in Oriya; topics on health; beauty care; cookery with useful household tips; TV programme analysis and film reviews etc. This magazine is committed for it’s timely publication of all issues in a year punctuated by three special issues.
The 'Kadambinee' has carved niche for itself in the heart of Oriya readers as a prodigious and adorable household magazine of the millennium. It’s proliferative growth becomes conspicuous as it’s horizon of circulation expands from the village of Orissa to the international corridors of Oriya community. The irresistive craze of readers has created spaces for this colourful magazine everywhere in all households from drawing rooms to bedrooms and from tea stalls of the market place to bookshelves of libraries. It has become an integral part of every household and a name for recommendation to be read by all segments of readers.
In March 2007 Kadambinee became the first Oriya family magazine to get the ABC certificate.
Incredibly, from its beginning issue, the 'Kadambinee' has began its journey onto eternity holding the torch of knowledge with rays of information to pass on to it’s readers, encompassing them along it’s path.
